Cleveland Indians pitcher Jim Kern, pictured here in 1974, is the only no-armed ball player in major league history. Not one to be slowed by adversity, Kern developed a method of pitching the ball via a complex mechanics of his chin, neck, and shoulders. He pitched in 4 games that year, finishing with a record of 0-1 and a 4.70 ERA.
