I put together this Spotify mix as a best of/introduction to Skeletons. The first three tracks come from each of their first three albums, when the recorded version of the band was primarily a solo electronic project of founder Matt Mehlan. The fourth song, another from first album Life and the Afterbirth, is interesting as an outlier in the catalog, a bit of post rock with occasional vocals that sounds like a weirdo Broken Social Scene. The remainder of the playlist covers their current incarnation as an unclassifiable act bringing together elements of avant-garde composition, jazz, world music, and pop/rock songwriting.
